Australia's geographical isolation has played an important part in establishing a healthy industry. At the beginning, only disease free sheep and cattle could survive the long trip form Europe. In this way Australia was effectively isolated from 'exotic diseases'. The health status of today's industry is still zealously guarded through strict customs control and extensive quarantine livestock control.

Australian beef and sheep are products of their environment - Australia's vast pastures, clean rainfall and brilliant sunshine have resulted in beef and sheep (lamb) that are amongst the best in the world.

The Australian Government Authority and AUS-MEAT (the industry standards organisation) impose rigorous codes of practice at all stages of the processing chain. Australia's standards of hygiene and product quality assurance are among the highest in the world.

The Ausfine foods staff have a combined 50 years experience in the meat industry, and as a company Ausfine have been exporting Australian meat products since 1986, therefore we are well versed in the requirements of the different markets of the world. Ausfine’s expert staff can assist with any type of inquiry or request and provide timely and informed advise.

WHAT IS AUSMEAT LANGUAGE

The Language is based on product description and objective measurements of various carcase traits such as hot weight, fat depth, sex and age of animals. Processors use the Language to define company specifications, which determine particular 'grades'. The language covers descriptions for primal cuts and offal products derived from Beef, Veal, Sheep and Goat.

The AUS-MEAT Language has been adopted throughout the Australian meat industry and by most customers (of the meat industry) in importing countries.
